Success AND Voting

Saturday's Grade-In was a SUCCESS!!!!!!!!  Thank you to the 150 educators who came out to show the public what we do on a daily basis!

Ballots are out and it's time to vote!  Please VOTE for me!  I know I will make a great VP for PWEA - I am passionate, dedicated, energetic, and ready to make the right changes in PWEA.  I am also supporting Jim Livingston for President, JoEllen Livingston for Secretary, and Marlena Hawkins for Region C Director!

Thank you!!!!!

GRADE-IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At Thursday's PWEA All-Member Meeting, the members voted to hold a GRADE-IN on Saturday, March 10 at two locations: Potomac Mills Food Court and Wegman's in Gainesville.  The Grade-In will be from 11am to 1:30pm.

Please come...only if you can come for 15 minutes...or the whole time.  The more educators we have the more impact we will make!

Let's show the public that we DO work evenings and weekends!!!!!!

Important Events Coming Up!!!

PWEA will hold an All-Member Meeting on Thursday, March 1, from 4:00 - 6:30, at the Lake Jackson Volunteer Fire Dept.  Please come to learn EVERYTHING you need to know about the budget....work actions...and ways to keep yourself safe!!!!

Keep in touch with your legislators...they NEED to hear from you!  The more you flood their inboxes and messages, they more they will listen!

Elections are coming up: I would love your vote!  I am supporting: Jim Livingston for President, JoEllen Livingston for Secretary, and Marlena Hawkins for Region C Director....

Contact Your Legislator and Tell Them What's On YOUR Mind

*Let them know how the elimination of continuing contract hurts you!  We are a respected profession, but we are not being respected!

*Go to www.veadailyreports.com to find out updates!

*Become a Cyber Lobbyist...a great way to learn what's going on and to contact elected officials.  Go to www.veanea.org

Important Events

*PWEA is holding an important All-Member Meeting on Monday, 2/13, at 4:30, in the Benton Middle School library.  Come learn the FACTS about the budget and what PWEA is doing to make a difference!

*GRADE-IN!!!!!!!!  Show elected officials what you do on your own time - grade papers and create lesson plans.  Tuesday, 2/14, 2:00, Board of County Supervisors, McCoart Building AND Wednesday, 2/15, 7:00, School Board, KLC.  You can also speak and let your elected officials know how upset you are at the lack of funding for you and your classroom.

POLITICS!!!!

"I won't get out of politics until politics gets out of my classroom."  Politicians are making decisions about education....they have no clue what public education is about!

If elected PWEA Vice President, I will work tirelessly to communicate with our School Board and Board of County Supervisors and educate them about what we do on a daily basis!  I attended Lobby Day this year and duked it out with one legislator about the teacher evaluation system.

Please vote for me!  For those of you who know me...you know I will work hard for the nearly 4,000 PWEA members!  I will work to increase membership and member involvement.  I have had the pleasure of working on several division-wide committees...I am speaking for PWEA...speaking loud and clear!
